About
Jo Nagle is a musician/songwriter based in Los Angeles who has been influenced by music across all genres and eras. Her lifelong indiscriminate immersion into music has resulted in a sound that can vary from song to song, but overall can be summed up as a sort of alternative singer/songwriter. You might describe it as something like if Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette indulged in illicit substances and wrote an album together.
With a strong affinity for the macabre and an unrelenting desire to wear bright clothes and smile, most people can’t quite pinpoint what to expect from her – and that is how she likes it.
In her lengthy career as a musician she has performed and recorded with dozens of artists, but her journey as a solo artist has barely begun, but it is off to a running start, no knowing where it will lead!

These two songs are a great expression of both ends of the spectrum that my music touches. My background is heavily rock-influence, but I love music of all genres and I can’t help but acknowledge that my voice hits a sweet spot in softer, more adult-contemporary mood.
About Jo Nagle, by Jo Nagle
When people ask where I am from I always say, “That’s a long answer question.” Likewise when people ask what genre of music I play. I enjoy music in every genre and as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist I have spent many years performing, writing, and recording in many different styles. I started my official solo journey in 2022 and the music for the solo “Jo Nagle” project could be narrowed down into something like “alternative singer/songwriter”. I don’t usually write about the typical stuff – like romantic love – but rather I prefer writing about the absurdity of existence and fictional creatures. But there is hardly a topic I won’t sing about (just ask my partner, who experiences my daily impromptu jingles for event the most mundane topic.)
I love how music brings people together in so many ways and how it pairs so perfectly with other forms of art. I have been blessed to perform all over the United States and some in Europe with crowds of all shapes and sizes. I just want to keep adding places to my roster and spread the love and love of music with as many people as possible!
